BUSINESS: ART . HISTORY . IMPACT

THE POWER PLAYERS: COLLECTING COUPLES

Shirley and Bernard Kinsey of the Kinsey Collection, Don and Mera Rubell of the Rubell Museums and Fred Guiffrida and Pamela Joyner of The Joyner/Giuffrida Collection of Abstract Art. These collecting couples are featured in our story as being part of an influential vanguard of power players responsible for shifting the art world. They are working in the gap to reframe Black history, and create space for artists of African descent, whose work has been overlooked by history.

CBS News interviewed both the Kinseys and the Rubells in the videos below. Pamela Joyner discusses her art collecting and the influence of Black artists in key art movements during her TEDx Talk, Reframing Art History.
